ggggggThe work that I picked as the English best work is the Small Place Essay. The story is about the land of Antigua that was corrupted by their governments. Jamaica Kincaid was a writer of this story and also, she represents the voices of Antiguan. My essay was met writing standard 2.2, write responses to literature. After I read Jamaica Kincaid’s story, my objective is to response and give opinion about her story. For example I wrote a sentence to response to her point, ‘“The banks are encouraged by the government to make loans available for cars, but loans for house not easily”, Kincaid portrays the selfishness and the desire of money by Antigua’s government’. Also, I think this is one of my best assignment in English class.
ggggggI chose this piece as my best work in English, because I think this is the best writing response I have ever wrote. While I was writing the essay, I felt like I connected to her feeling, and am able to give the opinion about her story. Also, I received great response from other students and my English teacher. My favorite sentence of my essay is “. If only these devastating stories of Antigua could be rewritten, Antigua may turn out to be gorgeous from the inside and the outside”. I love this part, because from my point of view, Antigua is the gorgeous island, cover by the mud of their government. So I believe if we could able to take of this cover Antigua could be the loveliest country of the whole world.
ggggggEven though I thought this was my best essay, there are still many parts that need to be correct. If I could redo this essay, I would correct all wrong grammars, for example “this island fulfill by corruption and the pain of Antiguan”. Also I think that my creativity writing skill is a lot better than last year, so that would be the most important thing that I will improve, because now I can put new words, better word and add more story into my essay such as devastating instead of down.
