Tortoise and Hare
fffffWhile working on this short story, “The Tortoise and the Hare,” I met standard 2.1 (write a fictional narrative). The assignment was to revise a short story into my own adaptation. I took the idea as taking as rewriting a classical story into a more modernized version with more up to date language and a twist on the moral. By introducing my own characters into the story, my piece met the fictional narrative standard. fffffI chose to write about the steps in the process to make this piece because I feel that it was unique in the fact that it had an unusual step by step process. I also felt a little comical guilt while writing this because of the moral of the story. I augmented it to where the "villain" of the story became the protaganist, and completely destroying the moral. Although it was a small assignment, I feel that it had an impact on my confidence in writing creatively. I’ve always enjoyed revisions of old stories, and I was excited to be able to see the process of actually revising one myself firsthand.
