The third period in my senior year was Computer Art taught by Ms.
Campisano. In that class I was introduced to the Photoshop as a tool
to express myself artistically. Throughout the year I have completed
many projects that were different from one another.
The Metaphorical Profile (on the left) was one of my favorite assignments.
Its objective was to use shape, form, value, and texture to work with
visual metaphors and identity in portraiture. It falls under the Standard
2.1 (Solve a visual arts problem that involves the effective use of
the elements of art and principles of design) and Standard 2.3 (Develop
and refine skill in the manipulation of digital imagery).
I chose wheat to represent me because Ukraine, my home country, is
well-knows for its agriculture; I used the production sleigh because
I enjoy making videos and also work in a production crew. I was happy
with the final product because although my profile was covered with
symbols, one could still recognize me.
