Business Card

The objectives of this project were to incorporate Negative & Positive Shapes and Balance in a design, to develop an appreciation of type design, and to demonstrate my ability to manipulate type in PhotoShop by creating a logo. It falls under the Standard 2.1 (Solve a visual arts problem that involves the effective use of the elements of art and principles of design) and Standard 2.3 (Develop and refine skill in the manipulation of digital imagery).
To create a Business Card, I first designed a logo using my initials. In Photoshop, I added a layer style to each of my letters and then typed my contact information. I really enjoyed working on my business card because I understood that business cards do not have to be boring and/or black-and-white, they could be creative and interesting.

Museum of Culture Website

The objectives of this website (click on the link above or on the picture to view it) were to create the illusion of 3-D space using One-Point Linear Perspective, to combine scanning and photography and optimize images for the web, to create a personal statement about culture in a website, and to use Advanced Layer techniques in Photoshop. The Museum of Culture falls under the Standard 2.1 (Solve a visual arts problem that involves the effective use of the elements of art and principles of design), Standard 2.3 (Develop and refine skill in the manipulation of digital), and Standard 2.6 (Create a two- or three-dimensional artwork that addresses a social issue).
My museum exposes the Ukrainian Culture, and I am very proud of this work. It was challenging to draw a three-dimensional hall because I had to keep in mind the intended perspective. After I finished working on the homepage of my Museum of Culture, I still had to design the rest of the website. Nowadays very few high school students know about European countries like Ukraine, and I was excited to make it.

Lineanimation

The objectives of this project were to use Adobe PhotoShop & ImageReady to animate an image in multiple layers, to explore sequencing and time-based media, and to further develop the use of Line, Rhythm, and Movement in a work of art. The LineAnimation project falls under the Standard 2.1 (Solve a visual arts problem that involves the effective use of the elements of art and principles of design) and Standard 2.3 (Develop and refine skill in the manipulation of digital imagery (either still or video).
I like this project because it was my first attempt to animate my pictures. First I had to trace the line of an object, and then change its shape, size, and quantity. It was challenging to come up with a way to animate a traced object and I had to be creative.
