  1. I earned more than I spent. I tried to limit expenditures such as entertainment and buying gifts because they are not necessary for my daily living.
  2. I read Yingying’s budget and I think it is pretty realistic. As a AA degree holder, she made around $6000 a month and she spent most of her money on taxes. She limited her spending on clothes and food, therefore she has a lot of discretionary income. Maybe she can find a cheaper place to live, then she can spend more on leisure.
  3. Change my job to a Bank Teller and find a cheaper apartment so that I can raise my income.
  4. My education level is High School diploma. I chose to be a Hotel Clerk because I am really not interested in sitting in the Bank nine-to-five. I think being a Hotel Clerk will give me a bigger chance to interact with different people.
  5. At the beginning when I finished entering everything, my income was less than my total expenses.
  6. I chose to take Muni instead of buying a car because I can’t pay for gas and insurance. I didn’t choose to go to school after graduating High School, so I’m not paying loans and school supplies. I tried my best to cut back food and clothes expenses.
  7. I didn’t apply for a land phone because I already had a cell phone. I didn’t save any money for retirement.
  8. My life would be really tough if I earned less than what I used in my budget. If I do, I might have to live in a tiny room with no cable. If I earned more than what I used in my budget, I will save money for emergencies and retirement. I would also have money to, probably, go to school again.
  9. Yes. I feel like I know more about expenses in real life which I never cared about before (e.g. utilities, rent etc.)
