2nd Annual Writing Retreat

-" Literature is the expression of a feeling of deprivation, a recourse against a sense of something missing. But the contrary is also true: language is what makes us human. It is a recourse against the meaningless noise and silence of nature and history."-

"Reflection of Love"

Reflection

• Standard: 2.3 reflective composition

• Assignment Name: Reflection of Love (critic & composition)

• Objective: to write something that is very important for us,

• Question Prompt: How have I grow as a write?

On the 2nd Annual writing Retreat of Mission High School, I decided to follow one of my dreams; being a writer. I never thought very seriously about the possibility of being a writer, even though I write really well. This year I accomplished many things by writing. I won a scholarship for college, I wrote a play that was presented at the Magic Theater, and I wrote my personal statements which led me into acceptance at prestigious colleges, Santa Clara, Sonoma State University, etc.

“Reflection of Love” is a work that meets standard 2.3: reflective composition. In this piece of writing, I reflect about love and the mystery behind it. Why do we fall in love? Why cannot love be experienced by only one person? My reflection is personal, I wrote it to myself. I don’t try to make people agree with my ideas and concepts. My composition can be interpreted as a confession, because I confess to myself what love means to me. One of my favorite lines is –“the only way to feel love is by sharing it with someone else”- this lines reminds me of some of the best moments of my life, when I have been with someone that I love: a friend, a member of my family, or even a stranger.

Note: Dear reader

I encouraged you to read this confession of a broken heart and a lonely soul.
