Reflection Multimedia Presentation

» Writing - 2.6: Deliver multimedia presentations:
a. Combine text, images, and sound and draw information from many sources (e.g., television broadcasts, videos, films, newspapers, magazines, CD-ROMs, the Internet, electronic media-generated images).
b. Select an appropriate medium for each element of the presentation.
c. Use the selected media skillfully, editing appropriately and monitoring for quality.
d. Test the audience's response and revise the presentation accordingly.

Present to a class using media as an aid.

3) Steps Taken:
» Think of what to present on.
» Made PowerPoint presentation on subject I'm good at.
» Present to the class.
» Assign a homework assignment to make sure they listened.

4) Writing Prompt:

5) Conclusion:
» What did you think? I think that I did an ok job on this presentation. However I felt a little overwhelmed when making the PowerPoint because there’s so much to teach on this topic and very little time. Since I didn’t want the presentation to be really long I had to decide on what I thought was the main points of HTML and that was a little hard. It was also hard deciding whether or not to put in CSS in my presentation because CSS is almost always used with HTML but in the end I just mentioned it a little bit because even though it was connected to what I was presenting, it would seem off topic if I added it in.

When presenting I felt that a lot of people were listening but a few were bored and didn’t really notice what I was saying until the last slide where I mentioned that Ms. Lum was going to make us make a webpage. While I wish that everyone could have listened I understand that this probably isn’t a very interesting topic to everyone. HTML can be very confusing and a lot of people have no patience with it.

I am happy that I did this presentation because I was able to share something that I love with the rest of the class. In a way I was able to let people see a little more of me because I spend a lot of time designing web pages and even though I’m not the best teacher I think that at least some people learned something.
