• Objective: To research information based on the Pro’s and Con’s of a controversial issue.

In the Legal Eagle Research Project: Bullying Inspiration, I met the standard: “Students construct and test hypotheses; collect, evaluate, and employ information from multiple primary and secondary sources; and apply it in oral and written presentations (RESEARCH)”. First, I had to research on an issue about bullying and then I had to develop questions and a thesis on my topic. I had to use different databases such as Net Trekker, News Bank and Student Resources from San Francisco Public Library to find information on my topic. I collected different articles to evaluate and compare the topic of bullying. Also, I found articles from various perspectives: the bullies and the ones being bullied. After my research, I wrote a written report on the different views of bullying and solutions to the issue.

Writing this report was very difficult. First, it was difficult to find facts based on my questions. In order for me to get facts, I had to change my questions several times to get enough information on bullying. Although, there were lots of articles on bullying, many of them repeated information and I was looking for first hand accounts. Another reason was when writing my report it was not easy to write from two different perspectives without being biased because before I started researching I already had an opinion so this time it’s best to hear from both sides. This was a very difficult task because usually my essays were narratives, stories, or historical essays but this project was different because it was an analytical report. I had to analyze different reports and article to be able to write this report on Bullying. In all my years, this was the most difficult project for me.
