In AP Literature class, we were given a book to read and the title of the book is Song of Solomon, by Toni Morrison. After reading the book for weeks and having many talk discussions and as for a final exam, we were given and essay. The purpose of the essay is to write and essay based on certain themes like race, gender, and class. The standard for this essay was to structure ideas and arguments in a sustained, persuasive, and sophisticated way and supports them with precise and relevant examples. I met this standard by arguing my opinion about the main characters transformation through out the book. Although, I had my own opinion I gave an argument to my opinion so I wouldn’t be biased. In addition to support my ideas I used certain quotes to explain and support my ideas in depth.

I believe this is my most effective piece because I was able to analyze the different dilemmas in the main character’s life and link all of those topics into a well organized essay. Also, in this essay I was able to use quotes from the book and explain in detail why I’ve used those quotes to support my idea. I am really proud of my essay because the book was difficult to understand because it allows the readers to have different believes and opinions. In this case, I was able to write an essay according to my ideas and belief on the book. I was able to use different examples and was able to argue my opinion in this final essay. These are the reason why I believe this is my most effective piece.
