lalalaThis project I really enjoyed,
because I chose to do a bear as a symbol of the school mascot, but
then I was trying to be unique and creative so I painted it blue.
First, we had to form the shape/body of the animal/ person/thing we
were going to make with pieces of newspaper. For example to make my
bear I had to crumble newspaper in a ball for the head and the stomach,
and a small ball for the nose. Than I had to roll like 5 long pieces
of newspaper for the arms and legs, and use cardboard for the ears
to stay hard. After doing that, I had to tape all the pieces together,
then cover it all up with white cloth that you wet and than when it
dries it turns hard. Then after all that the bear was covered and
dried and I started painting it blue. I decorated it in gold light
brown, light blue, and grayish. I put a heart mirror in his chest
and a sun in his forehead.
lalalaAll the steps in this project
were important, because if I would not have followed the steps I would
not have been able to complete the bear how I wanted it. And I would
not have known how to make my bear sit and be able to keep it the
same way it looked when I first finished making it for a long time.
I was happy with the results, even though at first I wanted it brown.
But then Ms. Lawson suggested for me to make it different and so I
chose blue as the color. Maybe if we would have the option of making
it out of ceramics it would be more successful looking, but also more
difficult.
